Her parents later went into breeding and showing a range of dogs including German Shepherds, Basset Hounds, Dalmatian, Great Danes, Dachshunds, Ridgebacks and at one point Airedale Terriers. By the age
of 7 Angela was showing dogs and helping in the kennels. Her first personal dog was a Basset Hound called Dot (CH Baroness Bernadette of Tsai Mong Tsai to be precise). Angela trained and showed Dot and
helped to whelp and look after her two litters.

Pierre being a South African, is no stranger to Boerboels having met several on his family’s farms over the years. Angela first met Boerboels in 1997 in South Africa where she lived for four years. In 2000 she bought a Boerboel x Irish Wolfhound/Ridgeback puppy from a local farm in Plettenberg Bay. Savanna was the best dog she ever had and although she was a Boerboel cross, she had all the characteristics of a true Boerboel. In 2001 Angela met Pierre and they married (it’s a cool story, ask them sometime). Soon after they moved to New Zealand leaving Savanna in quarantine in South Africa. Savanna joined them in
New Zealand and later Australia where she died of old age at 13 ½ never having had an illness or issue throughout her life.

Skystorm Boerboels was established in 2014 with the intent to breed purebred Boerboels. Like with many breeders, unfortunately the first two Boerboels they bought, Skye & Storm, didn’t work out and were
never bred. In 2017 Angela & Pierre entered into a co-breeding agreement with Darren Williams of Williams Line Boerboels. A pregnant Williams Line Destiny came to live with them and whelped the first litter of 16 baby Boerboels at their house in April 2017. As part of the co-breeding agreement these were all registered under the Williams Line prefix. Unfortunately, Destiny contracted pyometra after her next season and had to be spayed, but she is still a very spoiled and loved pet at Skystorm Boerboels.
